James “Jim” Brooks holds a BA in Psychology from the State University of NY at Albany, a Master of Social Work (MSW) also from SUNY Albany, and Master of Acupuncture and Certificate of Advanced Study in Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, FL. Jim is a licensed acupuncturist in Florida and holds board certification in Oriental Medicine from NCCAOM, and has been a faculty member at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture for several years. Prior to embarking on a career in acupuncture and herbal medicine, Jim was a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker and director of a large nonprofit outpatient behavioral health center. Jim is originally from the Adirondack Mountain region of upstate New York.
