Dragon Rises College participates in the Title IV Federal Aid Programs. Students are eligible to apply for Direct Unsubsidized and Graduate Plus Loans to assist with covering educational expenses.
To apply for either student loan, students must first complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at Home | Federal Student Aid. Our school code is G38883
Once the FAFSA is completed the student will also need to complete Student Loan Entrance Counseling for Unsubsidized and Graduate Plus loans and sign a Master Promissory Note for both loans at the same website Home | Federal Student Aid.
Students also have the opportunity to use funds from the Florida Prepaid College Plan, Florida Bright Futures (if previously approved), Veteran Administration benefits for those who qualify and other outside scholarships secured through work or community organizations.
Once a student has completed the FAFSA, Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note, a funding estimate will be provided to outline the first Academic Year (2 semesters) of enrollment. The student can review the estimate and confirm or request a different loan amount per individual student needs.
Students will need to complete the FAFSA each year and loans are confirmed every Academic Year (or 2 semesters).
To view Loan Rights and Responsibilities and repayment options please visit Home | Federal Student Aid.
Note if a student withdraws or ceases attendance and borrowed Federal Student Loans, the loans will go through a proration and a calculation to determine how much funding was earned and if any refunds are necessary based on the number of days attended in the period. See the refund policy in the catalog for more details.
The new federally mandated Shopping Sheet is available here. It is intended to help prospective students compare costs among institutions.
Florida Bright Futures and Florida Postsecondary Student Assistance Grants are available to qualifying Florida residents who have not yet completed a Bachelors degree. View available State Programs.
We are approved for Veterans Training, as well as V.A. Vocational Rehabilitation and Florida Department of Education Rehabilitation benefits. Veterans may fill out the VA Application for Benefits on line at www.gibill.va.gov
