Dr. Whyrick has been involved in the field of natural medicine since 1996. A history of chronic asthma led him to investigate alternative approaches to traditional western medicine for management of associated symptoms. In this search, he discovered detoxification and purification strategies through naturopathic, dietary and herbal therapies, which helped ‘cure’ his childhood illness. In 1995, he began schooling in traditional naturopathy and western herbal medicine, which forever transformed the way he viewed health. Dr. Whyrick identifies illness as an imbalance in the natural order of the body while utilizing techniques to healthfully reestablish this order. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a pre-med concentration from the University of Colorado, a Master’s of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine from the California Institute of Integral Studies, with specialties including: sports medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, endocrine disorders, Epstein-Barr and Lyme’s support, fertility support and male health.
His methods are gentle and effective, utilizing techniques of classical acupuncture, esoteric acupuncture, western and Chinese herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, Acupoint Injection Therapy, Polarity and Biodynamic Craniosacral therapies, Shiatsu and Tui Na medical massage.
