Celebrating Our 2026 Scholarship Recipients
At Dragon Rises College, we believe that excellence in education extends far beyond the classroom. Leadership, service, academic achievement, and a commitment to advancing the profession are qualities that define the future of East Asian Medicine—and this year, our students have exemplified each of these values.
We are incredibly proud to congratulate our 2026 scholarship recipients for their outstanding accomplishments.
Lynn Thames Leadership Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to Annette Brody, Grant Bredeson, and Kevin Songer, recipients of the 2026 Lynn Thames Leadership Scholarship, presented by the Florida State Oriental Medical Association (FSOMA).
The Lynn Thames Leadership Scholarship honors the legacy of Dr. Lynn Thames, an educator, mentor, and leader whose dedication helped shape the future of East Asian Medicine. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence while also exhibiting leadership within their school, profession, and community. Recipients are selected based on their academic performance, leadership qualities, and commitment to advancing the field through service and professional engagement.
Trudy McAlister Foundation AOM Scholarship
We are especially excited to congratulate Annette Brody, who was also selected as a 2026 recipient of the Trudy McAlister Foundation AOM Scholarship.
The Trudy McAlister Foundation Scholarship is a nationally recognized merit-based award presented to students enrolled in accredited Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine programs who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and promise as future practitioners. The Foundation’s mission is to support the next generation of professionals who will advance and integrate East Asian Medicine while preserving its rich traditions.
Receiving recognition from both FSOMA and the Trudy McAlister Foundation is a remarkable accomplishment, and we are thrilled to see Annette’s dedication and leadership recognized on both the state and national levels.
Looking Toward the Future
The success of Annette, Grant, and Kevin reflects the passion, perseverance, and professionalism that define the Dragon Rises College community. Their achievements inspire fellow students and reinforce our commitment to preparing compassionate, knowledgeable leaders who will make a lasting impact on healthcare and the communities they serve.
Please join us in congratulating Annette Brody, Grant Bredeson, and Kevin Songer on these well-deserved honors. We are proud to celebrate your accomplishments and look forward to all you will contribute to the future of our profession.
