Dr. Morales has been practicing in Sarasota for over 19 years. He received his degree in Oriental Medicine from the East-West College of Natural Medicine, where he finished a private internship with Dr. Shan Liang (M.D. China). He later returned to the college as a member of their adjunct faculty where he taught Chinese herbal medicine and supervised the interns in the student clinic. Then served as the Head of the Chinese Herbal Medicine department. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine, teaching Chinese herbal medicine classes.

Learn effective Cupping techniques for revitalizing the body, healing injury, treating scar tissue and more. Perfectly suited for use on clients as well as self-care. Cupping is easy on the practitioner's hands and accomplishes relief that no other modality is capable of.
Emphasizing hands-on practice, students will become very comfortable handling the tools and knowing how and why to use them. Unique to this workshop is the use of Stimulus Cups, Mushroom Cups, Popper Cups, Facial Cups, Pump Cups and Gua Sha tools. History and theory will also be covered. Two different sets of Cupping tools are included to keep and take home.

Open to anyone, participants do not have to be students or massage therapists. Student discounts are available.

Classical Tui Na Level 1 teaches 15 basic hand techniques, concepts of touch, and how classical tui na theory and practice integrates into the theory and practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine. Students will learn a back-regulating protocol and building blocks for core protocols of upper, lower limbs and face and neck. Students will learn Qi Gong Hand Strengthening exercises foundational to their tui na practice.

The first in our Classical Tui Na Series, this class enables you to utilize a profound branch of Chinese Medicine with tremendous positive impact for your patients.

In the aftermath of hurricanes, floods, fires, Covid-19, and the ongoing fight against police brutality, acupuncturists will be called upon to address enormous amounts of trauma and the tools for trauma informed care will be more essential than ever. This course draws on AWB’s 15 years of responding to trauma around the world, to provide inspiration, practical case studies, and all the clinical and organizational tools you need to start this community rebuilding NOW. This course will prepare you to provide community-style acupuncture to people impacted by natural disasters, environmental devastation, disease, social injustice and human conflict. The focus is on how to provide trauma prevention and recovery care to impacted communities in times of crisis.

• The physiological, social and psychological factors in trauma patterns
• Sociological sources of trauma
• Clinical tools for trauma prevention
• How to set up disaster response projects in the community
• How to work safely on mobile teams and in community settings
• Cultural humility considerations when providing trauma-informed care
• Self help and safety for practitioners working in the field in crisis situations.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the physiological, social and psychological factors that can create trauma patterns;
• Review the NADA 5 NP for community-style treatments, including point location and treatment safety;
• Understand the description of how to set up field clinics for trauma relief;
• Understand the importance of how to work safely and effectively as a team when delivering care in the field

HOURS: 9am - 6pm daily

COST: Currently, $399 (Early Bird discount); regularly $399
